Lancashire CRN member SAMS is urging people to help make wishes come true for some of East Lancashire’s most vulnerable people this Christmas.
The Christmas Wishes appeal, launched this week, will see such as toys, food, clothes and toiletries collected and distributed to local charities.
It is being run by SAMS, part of the not-for-profit Community and Business Partners, with support from The Mall, Blackburn Enterprise Centre, BAe Systems, Laura Hartley Recruitment Consultants, Youth Action, Europrint and the Lancashire Telegraph.
SAMS is well known for being active in their community and developing new projects to support local people in need. In leading the Christmas Wishes initiative they are further cementing their reputation as a community group supporting people in real need.
Collection points have been set up at The Giving Tree in The Mall and Blackburn Enterprise Centre, Furthergate and businesses can arrange to have gifts collected from their premises. The items sought include selection boxes, new toys, toiletries and food, as well as money.
They will be given to local charities including, Young Carers, Women’s Centre, The WISH centre, Blackburn with Darwen Foyer, Child Action Northwest, The Salvation Army and Blackburn with Darwen Children’s Services.
The deadline for collections is Friday December 16.
