Lancashire Community Recycling Network is about much more than recycling – it’s about waste reduction, reuse, recycling and composting and the many positive social and environmental of benefits these activities. The community waste sector sees waste as a resource, and that’s why our annual awards ceremony has been renamed from the Red Rose Recycling Awards to the “Red Rose Resource Awards” from this year.
Applications are now closed, so thank you to everyone who applied. Thanks to generous support from our sponsors, cash prizes will be received by the winners of the following four awards:
- Best New Project – sponsored by Global Renewables Lancashire (£1,000 prize)
- Best Community Enterprise – sponsored by JWS Churngold (£1,000 prize)
- Best Voluntary Community Project – sponsored by Recycling Lives Ltd (£1,000 prize)
- Red Rose Resource Champion 2010 in memory of Cllr Brian Johnson – sponsored by Groundwork Pennine Lancashire (£250 prize*)

This year, the awards and barbeque will be held on 9th September from 5pm at the new Environmental Education Centre on the Farington Waste Recovery Park in Leyland, and three tours of the state-of-the-art waste facilities will be included. - And last but not least, Appletree Events will be providing another fantastic barbeque!
