Good Governance workshop

13th Dec 2011

In a changing economic climate, it is important that Boards and Trustees are responsive to the need for change and that they facilitate and support the appropriate, practical and sustainable development of their organisations.

This FREE workshop will help support Lancashire CRN members in developing and maintaining a responsive, effective board, and encouraging and inspiring board members, based on best practice advice from Governance expert Donna Carney of Community Futures.

When you book, we will ask for some information on issues that you are struggling with to make sure they are addressed on the day. In this workshop, we will discuss:

• Legal structures and their impact on committee members
• Which legal structures best suit your aims and needs
• Duties and responsibilities of committee members, directors and trustees
• Codification of Directors’ duties
• Effective meetings and their importance in developing and implementing strategic direction
• Internal controls and safeguarding for committees
• Other issues specific to you and your organisation

Feedback from past Community Futures workshops:

‘An excellent well structured day with lots of useful information and good case studies.’
‘Enthusiastic trainer with lots of good examples to explain key points’
‘Real examples put things into context and very enjoyable day – thank you’
‘The time flew – every group should do this type of training!’
